World Tuna Day

On May 2nd ; The World Tuna Day 2025 will be observed to raise awareness about the importance of tuna conservation and sustainable fishing practices. The day will highlight the vital role tuna plays in global food security, economic development, and marine biodiversity and address the concerns about overexploitation of tuna species.  To participate to the  World Tuna Day , Please Register to the virtual-event!  

The International Scientific Committee for Tuna and Tuna-like Species in the North Pacific Ocean (ISC)  was established in 1995 for the purpose of enhancing scientific research and cooperation for conservation and rational utilization of tuna and tuna-like species (HMS) of the North Pacific Ocean, and to establish the scientific groundwork for the conservation and rational utilization of the HMS in the North Pacific Ocean , Rules and Procedures:  Operations Manual Meeting and Workshops: Explore the Schedule of the ISC Future Meetings 2025!

The Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission ( WCPFC ) was established by the Convention for the Conservation and Management of Highly Migratory Fish Stocks in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean (WCPF Convention) which entered into force on 19 June 2004.  The 21st Regular Session of the WCPF was held from 28 Nov 2024 to 3 Dec 2024 in Suva, Fiji.
